With Christmas Shopping and Shopping by Paris, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau celebrates lifestyle in the French capital in winter. Spotlight on the 7th edition of Shopping by Paris, which is all about creativity, glamour and affordable prices.

Christmas Shopping

Throughout the month of December, Parisian streets, squares and shop windows are illuminated and decked out in seasonal decorations. Also known as the City of Light, Paris is especially so at this time of year! Christmas Shopping is part of the magic of this special festive season. On this occasion, the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau plays the part of Father Christmas to visitors, at the main tourist office at 25 rue des Pyramides in the 1st arrondissement, by offering them a free Paris City Passport Shopping 2012. This card, valid until 31 December 2012, gives 10% reductions for three consecutive days in 70 prestigious shops in Paris. For customers who have ordered tickets on the website between 1 and 15 December, the Bureau also offers a free delivery service to the hotels that they are staying at in Paris.

Shopping by Paris

At the beginning of January, Paris, plunges headlong into the excitement of the winter sales. To pamper fashionistas who have come to indulge in their favourite sport, Parisian tourism operators have joined together for the Shopping by Paris event and are offering many reductions and other advantages. Tourist accommodation providers are offering upgrading, complimentary breakfasts, bottles of champagne, or museum tickets. Some shops are also giving their clients small gifts. Discover the special offers of 200 of the members of the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau who have chosen to take part in the event.

Paris Shopping book

Inseparable from the Shopping by Paris event, the now famous Paris Shopping Book also comes out in January: the 2013 edition offers updated themed itineraries and some 30 or so new addresses. Because shopping is above all a question of lifestyle, six profiles of shoppers have been identified: Bohemian-Chic, Trendy, Select, Ethic-Ethnic, Creative and Savvy, so everyone to their own favourite shopping districts and everyone to their own bespoke shopping itineraries. Each itinerary is made up of six to eight stages, carefully chosen to intersperse gourmet or cultural stop-offs in between two shopping sessions. Bilingual in French-English, the Paris Shopping Book is available for free, from January, at the Bureau’s tourist information points.
